The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a bright and enthusiastic meteorologist to join the forecasting team in our IBM Seoul office. The successful candidate will provide decision support products and services for our aviation customers in multiple locations, delivering advanced level aviation forecasts for terminal weather conditions and arrival/departure airspace. You will support, interact and collaborate with the other global operational meteorology groups at The Weather Company.

Comprehensive training and mentoring will be given in The Weather Company (TWC) IBM’s proprietary systems and applications and TWC IBM’s advanced forecast models and workstation technology. Training for the EWINS certification for aviation will also be provided.

You should have a good first degree or higher degree in Meteorology in which you have gained a solid understanding of theoretical and practical meteorology and be licensed as a Meteorologist by KMA. You should have operational weather forecasting experience with civilian/commercial airlines, but military experience accepted, with demonstrated achievements and progressive responsibilities. Your English and Korean communication should be good to give clear verbal and written briefings tailored to customer needs.
