The 1st announcement for TCOI 2023 Workshop

Dear colleagues,

We would like to draw your attention to the upcoming workshop (TCOI 2023) on Tropical Cyclone-Ocean Interaction in the western North Pacific which will be held, on November 6-8 in Jeju Island, Korea.

Global warming increasingly manifests itself through earlier/later and poleward occurrences of super typhoons in the western North Pacific.

This workshop aims to bring together researchers and forecasters to share their knowledge and skills in TC observations, modeling and forecasting in the Northwest Pacific Ocean, focusing on air-sea interactions.

Research in these areas is becoming increasingly collaborative, especially across country borders.

The workshop will cover a wide range of topics, which include six sessions as follows:

Session. Air-sea Fluxes and TC Analyses

Session. Coupled TC-Ocean Modeling

Session. TC Air-Sea Manned and Unmanned Aircraft Operations & Experiments

Session. Oceanic and Atmosphere-Ocean Interaction Processes in TCs

Session. Seasonal/Long-Term Variability and Forecasting of TCs

Session. Breakfast Meeting (Discussion and Jeju tour)

The 10 invited international speakers are expected to give oral presentations.

The workshop web site is http://tcoi.kr

You can find the information about TCOI 2023 workshop information including hotel reservation and registration.

Abstract submission are now open.

Best Regards,
