Greetings!

On behalf of the International Organizing Committee of the Asian Conference on Meteorology 2017 (ACM2017), I would like to take this opportunity to express our excitement at hosting ACM2017 in Busan, Korea in the period of October 23-24, 2017.

The ACM is the continuation of the Korean Meteorological Society (KMS) - Chinese Meteorological Society (CMS) - Meteorological Society of Japan (MSJ)'s joint meeting that has been biennially held during 2005 - 2013, and the expansion of three societal meeting to other Asian countries. Following the first meeting held in Kyoto, Japan in October 2015, we KMS is very proud of holding the ACM2017 in dynamic Busan in this beautiful October. Maintaining our tradition in 2017 we will have an exciting program that not only brings up-to-the-minute research results, but also includes contributions from other Asian countries.

This time we prepare three topics under the theme of "ACM2017 - Changes in Extreme Weather, Climate, and Environment in a Warmer World: Observation and Prediction";

Session 1: Climate System Interactions (Atmosphere-Ocean-Land-Cryosphere Interactions)
Session 2: Improving Observation and Prediction of Weather and Climate Extremes
Session 3: Regional Air Pollution and Environmental Changes

As the Chair of ACM2017 IOC, I am very happy to welcome you all to our vibrant and diverse city Busan. Located at the southeastern corner of the Korean peninsula, Busan is a major Asian city with rich cultural heritage, exciting natural environment, and vital spirit. We are sure that the ACM2017 will bring you many wonderful moments in Busan.
